Best of the 60s

The 1960s were a strong time for cinema. In America, it is widely thought of as the bridge between the Golden Age and the New Hollywood, fueled by the ending of the Hays code. As such, it makes for a fascinating time capsule with its mixture of artistic breakthroughs and old-fashioned entertainment. Hopefully my list reflects this dichotomy. These are my favourite films of the 1960s:
